This shoot was a blast! Unorthodox and creative I had the vision of a magical ice queen in my mind and model Sabrina Dawnn definitely brought that image to life!
Welcome to the smoke show! Model Karma Courtesy never ceases to amaze when she steps in front of my lens! These were super fun to shoot and there is nothing like collaborating with friends. This marks the beginning of a new direction in my photography. I have been studying a lot of new techniques and am excited to amp up the creative fashion quite a bit moving forward!
When model Sara Elizabeth came up with the idea to shoot a Marylin Monroe inspired set, how could I refuse? Growing up my mom was an avid collector of Marylin collectibles, so this one was a very fun shoot!
When your good friend Linda Her Vang of LvLove Photography says, “Hey, I’m doing a tomb raider shoot. Wanna come with?” You drop everything and go. Working with the model Gina Higdon and collaborating with Linda Her Vang we created a very cool rural take on an iconic video game and movie. But don’t let me tell you how fun this was, take a look for yourself!
This shoot redefined my definition of the word adventure! Vintage bridal gowns, lanterns, horns, a friendly pair of goats, and angel wings. If those weren’t enough my friend Charlie Pierce of Abztract Photo and I trekked 4 hours south to visit Squire Boone Caverns and with their permission began the arduous trek of lugging cameras and lighting gear through a tight and dimly lit cave system all while being extremely careful to not damage the cave in any way! I will just say my arms got a work out, our model Tashina Northern was a trooper though! I think of all my shoots this was one of the most unique to date! I’ve always said why use photoshop when you can get the real thing on camera!?
A group shoot at a beautiful abandoned church in Gary Indiana? Count me in! We worked with many very talented and beautiful models, but Tashina Northern came in with a beautiful flowing dress that had an air of ghostly qualities. This was really perfect for this location. Combine both and The Ghost Bride was born!
I can’t speak highly enough about this shoot. One of my earlier adventures into themed shoots this is the shoot that set everything in motion and made photography infinitely more fun. Organizing a collection of amazing models we decided to shoot at Buggy Works in Brownsburg Indiana. I never imagined that models Samantha Lefler, Kenzi Foster, and Luci Marburger would become such great creative friends! And as a bonus I caught Charlie Pierce of Abztract Photo working his day job. We have been best friends ever since! Take a look at the shoot that made the dominos fall!
Another group shoot we put together with the idea to just walk around in Broadripple Indiana and capture some night portraits! This was interesting as we were using the Rotolights continuous light system and I feel like these images came out so unique and beautiful!
Let me tell you about Kiann Tate! AKA Magick Ginger. This girl rocks a very unique image and is making waves in the modeling industry! She is also a good friend of mine. What most people wouldn't know is (like me) she loves to read and is an avid fan of the library. So naturally we had to shoot there! I will never forget sneaking around the librarians and hiding while trying to get amazing photos. This shoot was truly a lot of fun. The images are more traditional and less conceptual, but the story behind them is still an adventure!
